  Breeder's Description - 'Bubblefunk'
Our Bubbleberry mom crossed with our Northern Lights #5 has produced a plant that has that distinct Bubblegummy taste and smell along with a better yield and shorter flowering time from the N.L.#5 father. Expect some variation from Bubblefunk(flowering time, height) but also expect to find a mom that lives up to your expectations for sweet taste and potent high. One of our favourites.

I started with 10 seeds.

Seeds were soaked overnight in dilute Maxicrop Seaweed solution. Germinated in papertowels within 24 hours.

Seedlings were started in seedling potting soil. After 7-10 days they were transplanted into 1 gallon pots of Fox Farm Ocean Forest.

I had read that a shorter day period during the third and fourth weeks (i.e. 14 hours) would stimulate more females. Instead, 14/10 caused 8 of my plants to flower at day 22.
3 of these were female.

A week later I switched to 12/12 and the other 2 revealed themselves to be ladies as well.

I had two distinct phenos. One was light sensitive at 14/10, the other at 12/12. I called them pheno 1 and pheno 2 respectively.

I was able to take clones from pheno 2 just before I put them into flower. Of the two plants in pheno 2, the clones from one rooted in three days. The other took a little longer. They made great mother plants.

In pheno 1, there were distinct differences between the three plants.
2 smelled like bubblegum and finished at 45 days. The third plant smelled fruitier and went to 55 days. It could have gone another 5 days easily.
So in pheno 1 there were two unique sub-phenos. Pheno 1 and pheno 1b.

Pheno 2, that was light sensitive at 12/12 consisted of two plants. One plant was much smaller than the other and was sick from the day I put it into flower. The second plant was huge. After some serious nute problems due to ph lockout and salt buildup, she managed to finish around 70 days. I lost at least 2 weeks to nute problems.

Weight from pheno 1 and 1b - 40 grams
Weight from the big pheno 2 plant - 45 grams

The smoke is easy on the head, nothing too special for a stoner like myself.

While finishing the plants in flower, I had been collecting clones and moving new ladies into the flowering chamber. Some of the pics are from my "single-cola" grow. I wanted to see whether or not I could do a single cola grow in my box. However, it seems that the Bubblefunk are too branchy, turning my "single-cola" into a "mini-tree."

I started to tie my plants down to distribute the auxins to the lower branches and train the plants for less vertical height when one of my ladies snapped. I put her in the greenhouse outside and pollenated her with one of the boys. Two months later I had more than 40 seeds.

I am running a 250w MH for veg and 382 watts of T8 fluoros for flower. My box, manufactured by Suncell, has eight 32 watt, 3000K tubes, and five 32 watt, 5500K tubes.
It is approximately 8 square feet, almost 50 watts per sq. ft.

I used Maxicrop Seaweed for veg and Fox Farm Big Bloom for flower.

I used LST to train my plants because I only have 28 inches to work with. All my plants finished under 16 inches.
