  Breeder's Description - 'Northern Lights #5'
This state of the art Indica is the result of over 25 years of selective breeding. We have bred for vigorous growth, high yield and a superb high. A must for growers who prefer short, bushy plants. The buds have an extremely frosted, resinous appearance. Truly one of the best all-around indoor plants in our collection. Our #1 selling strain with thousands of satisfied customers.

I grew this as a newbie and it was as hardy, stable, squat and low odour as the classic NL reputation suggests, with all the potency as well.

Odour: Oddly, plants smelled more skunky in veg than flower, when they were sweet 'n' low odour. A very sweet 'n' citrusy grapefruit smell, but stealthy.

I flowered 2 British Columbia Seed Co. NL#5 along with 3 Sensi Seed Bank Northern Lights. The NL#5 out performed the Sensi in every way. The buds swelled up a lot more, earlier, and had even more resin which is saying a lot cos the Sensi is heavily resined.

This strain is very very hardy and hard to hurt. Perfect for first time growers to get them hooked on the hobby.

I vegged for 40 days and my plants grew to 4 feet from the top of the soil. If vegged sooner they should go 3-3½ feet without training.

I found two phenotypes: a pole-plant pheno that was just one big 20" cola with four little crown buds around it, and a xmas-tree pheno that has more branches, smaller cola, bigger yield but takes up more space. The xmas-tree pheno actually tastes a little better.

The smoke is amazing! <-I will add a smoke report one of these days...

Being from the NW I used to get NL#5 back in the day all the time, it was the local favorite for many years spanning the 80s and 90s. Then it all seemed to kind of dry up after BC bud became what you would normally see. So ever since I started growing I have allways wanted to see if I could get a go ...continued

Well, this was officially one of the most depressing experiences of my life. I spent months planning my first grow and building a wardrobe grow cabinet. I spent $1800 on equipment. I spent 3 months growing the plants. I started with 6 seeds. 1 didn't germinate, so I started a 7th. I got 2 females an ...continued
