  Breeder's Description - 'Matanuska Tundra f2'
An F2 version of Sagarmatha Seeds Matanuska Tundra. A legendary Alaskan plant that truly produces massive buds that are extremely dense and flavorsome. An excellent indoor/outdoor plant that will produce 350-375grams/m2 inside. Outside in damper areas you made to need to keep an eye on bud rot due to the sheer size of the buds.

I germed 10 Matanuska seeds and got 8 hardy plants -- ALL FEMALE! I did not buy feminized seeds but I typically have a high female ratio. This is the most plants I've ever gotten 100% female on tho from regular seeds (have gotten 100% on 4 seeds at least twice). I would describe this strain as a good solid plant -nothing spectacular (other than fem ratio!), and nothing disappointing.

Growing

7 of the plants were almost identical -this strain is pretty stable. 1 plant was more sativa dominant and started stretching even in veg. The one bad thing I can say about this is the sativa has autoflowering traits! The sativa dominant looked ready to burst into flower when I put it into flower and it did flower quick. The clone I took autoflowered under 24 hour lighting @ about 2 months genetic age. The indicas did not have autoflower problems. I experienced a bizarre yellowing in half of one plant don't know what that was about. I yielded a half an ounce on each plant average in 2 gallon vertical treepot containers. After checking the pots root growth was inhibited by the tall pots and I feel this hurt yield significantly. They probably could've gone an additional 1-2 weeks for additional yield and more potent couchlock effect. Bud is nice and thick very much like commercial bagweed you often see not airy at all. As I said I probably could've gotten some good additional yield gains and more potent couchlock type buzz by letting it go another week or two but I wasn't able to wait. Yield was a consistent 1/2 oz give or take 1/8.

High

High was very good. When you first smoke it (or if you're not a heavy smoker) it's pretty cerebral but with a good 'Huh?' couchlock stone at the same time. It definitely has a ceiling to it so that you never get crazy high, but the thing I liked best about it is that even if you are a heavy smoker like me, it always gets you decently stoned by smoking a bowl or two and never develops a total tolerance to where you feel like you're almost not getting stoned. If you aren't a heavy smoker this strain will knock ya on your ass. Good overall medicinal effects and good to help ya get to sleep although it doesn't make you sleepy. I found you can even smoke this during the day and work if you have some tolerance to it. So maybe not the strain if you're going for killer knockout high but for a good overall high I give it a thumbs up. I don't plan to buy any in the future though only because so many other plants can give a similar high. A friend is going to try to reveg his flowering plants and if he's able to I may grow a clone out from the clones I gave him.

The most disappointing part of this strain is bag appeal. None of the plants really got super frosty and even though I opened the grow room window and let cold air come in to bring temps down into the 60s I didn't see any color changing. Still I smoked ounces of this stuff for weeks and it kept doing it's job and that's the most important thing.
