Some background on this strain, it is BCGA Killer Queen X Grimm's DTC99. Which makes it a Cindy99 dom cross (yumm) with a little G-13 and Thai thrown in ta boot. Now there are a few reasons I picked this pack for my next grow -

1. I had a very good grow with Rez's Willie 'D'.....so good in fact that it was the first new strain to make it into my Top5 in almost a year. So I knew that Reservoir Seeds had good strains from my previous experience

2. I need more Sativa in my diet I've got a lot of hard hitting Indy dom crosses in my collection, I'm looking to add more Sativa kick to my rotation.

3. I am a big fan of the original BCGA KQ......

Anyway enough with the back-story....on with the show. I broke open my pack to find that it was like two packs in one, as 16 seeds were contained inside I picked 1/2 dozen of the best looking seeds (they were all dark and uniform in size so that was easy) and germed them using the paper towel method. 48 hours later I had 6 visible tap roots showing. I planted in RW starter cubes w/ coco fiber used to fill in the hole.

5/6 sprouted (the one that didn't come up did show about 3 days later but was culled for being slow). 1 more was dumped because it stretched like mad, leaving me 4 sprouts to put into veg.

One month in veg (Veg started on 6-23) and they are looking very good. One more plant was tossed as it lacked the vigor that I require. So I have three BR's left to choose from. BR's #1 & 2 are similar phenos showing great hybrid vigor, and a sativa dominate leaf structure. BR #3 is more squat and compact, w/ a bush like appearance. BR #1 is still my fav, although #2 looks like a carbon copy, #1 had more vigor out of the gate. #3 looks like its on the way out It developed some type of stem mutation. The stem which was quite thick started to flatten out, and then divided itself into two tops. I've had this happen before and the resulting plant has been a male 5/6 times. The toxicity caused by the CytoGrow is all cleared up and new growth is nice and compact, just like I like it. I'm guessin another week or two and I'll have 'um sexed, cloned and ready for the flower room. These puppies moved along quickly.

BR No1&2 I guessed were girls and No3 I guessed male due to the stem deformity. Well I was right on No1.. she's a lady and my pick for a mother should I choose to keep this one around. No2 is a male.... a very handsome one at that.... but alas I have no need for BR pollen, so Chop-Chop-Chop, "Timber" and No3 recovered well from the early runtism and stem split, filling in nicely. She was the first to start alternating nodes and is clearly a different pheno than No1&2.

A few caveats to consider if you grow the BottleRockets;

1. You need some space...... The only reason I might not keep the BR around is that it is huge! Not a good plant for SOG as it is a true bush, growing as wide as it is tall, I'll have to drop some other clones to make sure they have enough room.

2. This strain stinks!!! BR is one of those rare strains that start to produce odor as soon as the plant matures (in veg), just one week into flower and I can already smell them outside of my flower room. I have half a dozen OG Kush less than a week away from finishing and they don't smell nearly as bad. If the final smoke is good, this won't be an issue for me... but for others it could be.

Other than that it has proven that it is easy to clone and not to pickey about what you feed 'um.

Good news.... my eye for early sexing seems to work pretty well..... bad news..... BR #3 is a male leaving me a lone Bottle Rocket to flower. Now that would be sad news, if she wasn't such a beautiful girl The smell has sweetened.... not as BO'ish, can't wait to get a wiff when in a couple of more weeks. If she grows more than a foot more, I'm going to have to take her out of the table and rig some DWC bucket for her on the floor.... needless to say her clones will be flowered much shorter.

Well doesn't look like I'll have to do anything special for the Bottle Rocket. She finished her stretch at the 4' mark, so I didn't have to move her off the table. Lots of lower branches.... had to prune a few so I don't end up with a bunch of stems.

This girl is a beast, and moving her in and out of the tray is no easy task. I was able to wrestle her out of her hole and snap a few shots. I can say this for her.... she likes to eat..... I had to change my rez a week early as she sucked the nutes right up, not to mention the water. She has done very well considering the heat issues I've had as of late... my flower room has been averaging 85F daytime temps and only 80F night now that that has passed she should get huge.

Well my Bottle Rocket is firmly planted in my tray. Root mass is too large to allow me to move her till harvest time, so I'll have to make due with some flower room shots taken just before lights on. She is really startin to pack it on, gettin nice and thick. Very thick stem, no problem holding itself up, I've added support just to keep it from leaning over in her small net pot (1gal). I've also strung the lower branches together to make her a little more compact and get some of the lowers closer to the light.... it seems to be workin well. She is a very easy sativa dom to work with, best I've had in years, I had a Humboldt Haze that was easy to grow, but tasted like shit, I hope this taste as good as it looks.

I'm happy to say she finished inside of 65 days with a very impressive yield. I'd say just shy of 4 OZs when all is said and done. Very easy to trim, with very dense colas, and very little scrimpy popcorn nuggets.... sorry to say I won't be gettin much bubble hash out of this strain. The smell is very exotic on the dry buds (dry only at this point, not cured) a very spicy, rotten tropical fruit smell, that hangs heavy in a room, you won't forget you left the jar open with this stuff. The uncured buds still pack a heavy punch. Very sativa head slam, sending the plus racing. Very good day smoke as it doesn't have too much comedown. I'd rate the high at a 8 on the potency scale, with a duration of stone lasting about 2 hours or so. I'm going to give the buds in the pic a few weeks to cure and report back on them, to see if my opinion has changed.
