I have beat Cancer so many times, they are giving It the survivors award. I have been diagnosed with melanoma, jaw cancer, and also lung cancer over the last ten years or so. I am fighting them all (* well, except I guess the lung cancer as I still smoke cigarettes). I don't want any congrats or hail fellows...no...not for me. You can keep your prayers too, cause I think all you are doing is talking to yourself when you do that. But thats me. I am the one who lives through stuff I guess. Been pronounced dead a couple times... still here. Been diagnosed with Killer Cancer(s)...still here....broken back and missing vertebrae...but still here. I take full credit and responsibility for this. I have fought hard to be able to walk. To be able to go outside on a sunny day. To be able to breathe. I cannot say why I still am. Just that I still am.
Melanoma is a bitch. Simply because your skin covers your entire body and then some. And any of it can show the disease. It can appear anywhere, and in later stages, can infect anywhere. The other ones are tame. For Jaw cancer, I had three biopsies done of a strip of gum tissue from my lower and upper gums. I am missing pieces of flesh, which I did consider wholly needed. Lung cancer...well, as long as it doesn't start to grow, I am fine. With the lungs though its the emphysema I concern myself about. That stuff sucks. It is what killed my grandfather. He couldn't catch a breath. His was caused by smoking and asbestos. Not in that order. Melanoma is the skin, and if unchecked it can definitely spread to other major organs. The skin is a major organ. Most people don't think of it like that, or that it is totally a part of who you are.
I don't mind the scars. Hell, who wants to die without a few?
