I purchased some clones a couple weeks back, and planted them in a barrel which was set outside in a good morning sun. The plants took a bit to get going, and then were horribly attacked by mites. I used an Organic 3-in-1 solution, which allowed me to get rid of the mites, although it took several applications. The 3-in-1 in basically Sesame and Tea-tree oil in a mix, and it does a decent job of killing the mites it touches. However, most mites live UNDER the leaves, and the sprayer is difficult to use in that manner because its a 'standard' spray device. It uses gravity and a straw to pull the liquid out of the bottle. There should be a product that doesn't stop working if you put it on its side or upside down. I have not found one of those with a 'handheld' bottle. I could buy a big pump, which has a hand nozzle, but that seems a bit much just to spray a few times.
I used the 3-in1 also because the plant is in the vegetative state and while some oils will leave a 'flavour' of them, I have not experienced this with this product.

I also picked up a concentrate product, but I have not used it yet so no comparisons.
The plants are looking a lot stronger, although the lower fan leaves are showing the wear from the mites.
I will post a picture when I can, but this attack of mites is similar to what I faced before. I am going to move into the hydroponics growing once I get the solar panel array setup. Just have to mount the frame to the shed, and I can then setup my panels and converters.
Will post all that info when it becomes reality (with pictures...)
