Breeder's Description - 'Cinderella 99' | | This strain may be the "Holy Grail". The result of painstakingly backcrossing a very rare female to her male progeny over 3 generations. This hybrid was specifically bred for indoor cultivation. Short-statured & heavily branched, this plant grows long, dense colas with an extremely high flower/leaf ratio and outrageous resin production. The breeder has observed a "giant leap" in potency with each progressive generation and, as expected, Cinderella 99 has topped all previous results - her high is heavily influenced by Haze; clear, energetic & devastatingly psychoactive. A plant with all of the ...continued

| Decent sized buds that aren't as dense as some strains. Pistils are thick and curly. Resin production is very nice. Plants stretch a bit in veg with longer than average internodal spacing. Buds fill in well, though. Finishes before most in the garden. She is a voracious eater and can take nute level ...continued

| Very vigorous and great germination rates. Very nice side branching, if topped will grow just as wide as tall. I do recommend topping, tying, and training this plant, because the branches will grow like vines, and are very easy to manipulate. Average node spacing, with a medium to dark green color, ...continued

| Grow Info: This plant was built for SCROG'n or otherwise training. It can be topped, I just train. Vegetation time is varied to your screen control. 2 weeks or less is my approach at this time. Branching on clones is very dense, which later equates into more budsites. Going from seed is as squirre ...continued

| These seeds were bought through CBay last year and were supposedly from Broths Grimm stock.
This plant was very easy to germinate and clone. I had about 70% females and all of those showed preflowers very early. It was very easy to find the sexes without putting any into flower first.
Vegetat ...continued

| The seeds were obtained from the GN03 Collection and were Cinderella 99 F2s. Very good germination results: 108 seeds germinated out of 130, around a 50/50 male/female ratio. The plants were grown in soil and on an NFT table. They grew easily, heartily; seemed to grow faster in hydro than in soil (a ...continued

| This was my first SCROG grow of C99. I had 2 females I kept. The germ rate was 7 of 10. I did a soil grow to produce seed and was able to see what a beautiful plant this is. Classic sativa!! I grew 4 plants in a SCROG Ebb & Flow. The plant has excellent branching, eats up the nutes and is relatively ...continued

| These were among the first batch of "Commercial", seeds that I bought back in 2001, and I just got around to doing them myself in 2004. I purchased the seeds from Heaven's Stairway and they are Brother's Grimm originals.
I had 7 seeds left, (I bought two packs all together, the others were given ...continued

| Out of 7 seeds I ended up with 3 females, the other 4 were males. One tall lanky pheno, and two short and stocky phenos. These plants were grown in 2002, they were the original F1 seeds from the Brothers Grimm. I studied Mr. Soul’s and Sly’s posts regularly on cannabisworld and Mr. Soul confirmed that the two phenotypes I noticed were the most popular c99 phenos. Soul added that the shorter of the two phenos are frequently more potent than the taller variant.
I vegged this strain for about 8 weeks, during the middle of the vegetative time I noticed some yellowing around the edges of the fingers on the fan leaves on some of the plants. At first it didn’t worry me but the yellowing increasingly got worse. Soul suggested that the problem is most likely due to a magnesium deficiency because “C99 is a magnesium hog” and recommended Epsom salts to correct this problem. I added a half table spoon to a gallon of water and a few days later I was amazed out how quickly the plants recovered. Soul said in the future don’t add Epsom salts for no reason, only add Epsom salts if you notice yellowing of the leaves otherwise you could cause a nutrient lock up if you overdose them on Epsom salts when they don’t even need it.
At about 6-8 weeks of veg the plants branches were alternating at the nodes which indicates that the plant is sexually mature enough to begin flowering if switched to 12/12. Around 6-8 weeks of 18/6 this strain began to show preflowers while still in veg. This is a desirable trait in my opinion so you can take clones of the females while still in veg. The freshly cut clones aren’t stressed as much if taken in veg. Instead of being in veg, switched to 12/12 to see the sex, then take clones and reveg the clones. C99 clones can be taken before 12/12 even happens. But only if they receive enough veg time about 6-8 weeks.
I found this to be a lower odor strain throughout veg and flower than the other strains I have grown. During the entire flowering stage I found it very low odor and what you could smell didn’t have the classic strong marijuana scent, it had a faint lemony/fruity scent unless you got up close to it and moved the buds around then the smell would get stronger but still low when compared to other strains. It could be a good stealth strain for this reason.
By the end of flowering the height of the tall lanky pheno was out of control. I had to tie it down to keep it from being scorched by my 430w HPS. The other two shorter females were about 4-5 feet tall and had fat colas & big thick bud sites with compact buds. The tall out of control pheno had small bud sites that were scattered in many areas and fluffy nugs. I didn’t notice the shorter phenos being more potent than the tall lanky female like Soul suggested I would, but that was just my experience with the particular females I had. Of course Mr. Soul is more knowledgeable on this strain than I could ever be.
Cinderella 99 produces a great Haze type of high that all sativa lovers are after and is able to reach this goal in only 55+ days. This is a very potent strain, one bowl between 3 people taken at prime time is enough for the rest of the night. Both of my phenos produced a extremely potent psychoactive head high but the taller one produced a high that could literally be felt in the head when compared to other strains. I learned the true meaning of a “head high” with this strain. There are many potent strains out there but c99 is potent and low odor unlike other strains that will stink up your whole grow room. The smoke can be very overwhelming to those not experienced with world class sativas. In my experience the sticky and fruity smelling buds had better trichome production than any of my previous strains. If your after a potent sativa but don’t want to wait an unusual long flowering time for it, this strain is for you.
Garden Information for this report Organic soil, 430 watt HPS. Water about once every 4 days. Fed every other watering, during flowering I fed with Pure Blend in the start of flowering and Earth Juice Bloom to finish her up. Organic ferts only for veg and flower. |
