  Breeder's Description - 'Calizahr'
Calizahr.... the bitter orange. The 20+ year old Cali-O clone, an old elite gem that has proven her worth in gardens all over north America gets down with pollen from the Shiskaberry red line.... and large yielding, very resinous line.

The purpose of this cross was to develop a line that produces large, resinous flowers that retain the characteristic citrus flavor and aroma of the 20+ year old Cali-O mother, all the while improving upon her yield and resin production. The results culminate in an excellent plant, with lime green flowers that are covered in trichomes. Makes excellent hash.

I have had Calizahr around for a few cycles now, she goes big! A real nice producer. It has become highly regarded, the quality is all there fellow growers. I also would like to add since my first report in Jan 04 (below), that I feel if SOGged "small" Calizahr would give you some fat bud-cycles. I haven't tried Calizahr SOGged, but from watching the plant grow I surely can see it.

Calizahr is a breeze to grow, a little needy on the feed but not bad. Germ rate was 100 percent and I ended up with 50/50 on the male/female ratio.

These big ol? bushy plants are structured perfectly for Tree/Bush/Scrog style grows. Lots and lots of side branches that produce some nice buds. Due to the amount of lower side branching massive amounts of training would be in store for one who chose to SOG her.

This Calizahr was grown using organics such as top soil, peat, cow manure, bone/blood meal, green sand and fox farms big bloom. I can?t say it was 100% organic as I once used FF Grow Big during veg, but very close to all organic.

Pulled at 58 days her high is nice and balanced. Powerful, I Give her an 8 of 10, She comes on strong, stays a good spell then disappears without a trace. Calizahr does not tend to drag one down. Which a parent of hers (Cali-O) is know for, a nice daytime high that leaves you active.

She could have gone a bit longer maybe 60- 65 days or so. I harvested because the lower buds were starting to fall over from their own weight. The branches were drooping a little more each day. Very dense solid buds, citrus-y smell, the 28? incher produced almost 2 oz. Not bad at all! It has a mellow creamy orange-y-zest thing going on in the flavor dept.

Her flavor is mellow as stated, but I must add that it has Cindy-ish overtones about her. Not saying they taste the same cause they don't, just have the same style of flavor. Where Cindy is of pineapples and grapefruits, Calizahr is of creamy-orange zest.

Over all I liked Calizar. I have one in the bubbler that has just exploded into a massive bush! It looks like she was screened though she was not.

Overall Rating8  EffectSomewhat heady

I grew out the Calizahr from seed in the light-polluted, space-limited world of a northern European urban balcony. I was quite impressed with the hardiness of this plant -by the end of the season it had become a bit rootbound but it still produced very potent, dense buds despite being harvested ear ...continued

Overall Rating7  EffectSomewhat couchlock
Potency5  StatureSomewhat short and squat

Stong vigor let her survive less than ideal conditions in early veg. She pulled through and went into flower at full speed after 5 weeks veg. Decent resin production 3 weeks into flower. Let off a rotten orange smell in thoughout flower. Even the stem smelled orangish, smellest stem ever. Leave ...continued
