  Breeder's Description - 'Romulan x UBC Chemo'
Mostly indica. This Chemo was developed at the U.B.C. decades ago and is still in its unique form. Characteristics such as: two or three branches growing together, woody stalk, smaller three-fingered leaves make it look bonsai-like in appearance. Very strong with a hashy taste. Bred for medical purposes. The longer you can flower it the better -- very dense, round golfball size nugs. Our most potent Romulan cross makes this the ideal hybrid for the medical grower who needs a heavy stone.
Height 4 feet.
Color: Dark green.
Flowering time 9+ weeks.
Yield 6 oz

The breeders report above is very accurate for this strain. I agree with pretty much everything there. It does have a strong, hashy taste with a nice heavy stone. It’s very dark green. Extremely dense and bushy - almost bonsai like. Yap – all true.

It took a really long time to flower - you'd probably want to let it go even longer than 65 days... I went 70 and could have gone more for sure. And that was in bubblers which are supposed to decrease flowering time.

They seem to clone pretty easy – 100% success rate after about 40 cuttings.

SMELL:
As far as odor goes - these girlies stink! I was venting into the attic of the building, using an ozone generator inline with the exhaust (and plenty of mixing baffles in the attic). There were many mornings from week 5 onwards where I could smell STINKY STINKY dank at the end of my driveway, laced with a hint of ozone. It was bad. At the time I hadn’t yet heard of the cheap home-made carbon filters... Next time.

It had great bag appeal due to it’s stinky stinky odor. Smoking it was not as awe inspiring, but still intense none-the-less.
Danks says: 9 out of 10 for odor (with 10 being the stinkiest).

TASTE:
I had a couple different phenotypes in this batch. I got the seeds from Emery in mid 2002. As you can see at the end of the grow, I was down to two plants due to space restrictions.

There was a taller, lankier plant which had smaller greener buds. And there was a shorter bushier plant with heavier buds that had a purple tinge to them. Both tasted great, but the purple buds had a slight hint o berry once in a while which I really loved. It's pretty smooth smoke, not too harsh if cured properly.
Danks says: 7 out of 10 for taste.

YIELD:
I ended up getting nearly a pound of really good smoke off these two girls, along with about a half pound of decent stinky schwag.
Danks says: 7 out of 10 for yield.

APPEARANCE:
Bushy, dense, dark dark green, shiny, healthy leaves. Like I said above, one plant had some purply buds. Could have been attributed to my cold temperatures since it was pretty cool in there in the dark periods (it was freakin cold - 10C or 55F some days)
Trichome production was really nice. My digicam sux, but in real life they were sugar coated - trust me. Very nice. I've seen better, but it’s right up there with the best of em.
Danks says: 7 out of 10 for trichome production.
8 out of 10 for overall appearance.

1000W HPS in a small cabinet roughly 32" x 32" x 5' high.
The light was mounted within a metal reflector enclosure with a tempered glass bottom and a 265 cfm squirrel fan drawing fresh air from outside through the vent hood. Walls were wrapped in reflective insulation (mylar looking bubble wrap type stuff).

I also had a couple flouros hanging round the bottom for extra exposure in the lowers. As I said, they were dense ass bushes and light penetration was tough on a 3' plant.

As you can see they were in 3G bubblers. I found the maintenance to be difficult, but that's a whole other story unrelated to this strain. I was disappointed that they still took so long to finish up even though they were in the bubs.

I fed them General Hydro 3 part with a few other additives like Ozi-Tonic, Monsta Bud, Zyme, Karbo boost, & GH Floralicious.
