  Breeder's Description - 'Thai-tanic'
A very compact Sativa variety, classic chocolate Thai smell and taste. The Skunk father dominates only in fast maturation, high yields and general vigour. A heavy crystal producer that is extremely potent with a trippy cerebral high.

This strain is a cross of TFD's Early Thai and Skunk #1. I germed 3 seeds and got 2 fems. They finished at about 80 days. I had to do some mid-flower topping on this one. It is an extremely stretchy Sativa, but it does seem to yield well. Didn't produce much smell during the grow. The smoke has a sp ...continued

I found Thai-tanic to be a pleasant strain to grow.

The plants were all very consistent in appearance and fairly compact. The leaves were dark green and indica-like during veg, with defined ridging and edges. The bud leaves were more sativa-like. The branches were long, straight, strong and lade

I lost most of my grow data when my old PC died but here my Strain Guide grow report for Thaitanic from The Flying Dutchmen.

I germinated 5 seeds by giving them a 24hr soak then planting into a sowing compost mix. All sprouted in a few days and looked healthy.
At the 3-4 week mark they had skunky phenos, wider leaves, short node space. I started feeding around week 3-4 using Bio-bizz Grow & Algamic (seaweed).

I put them into 12/12hr around 4-5 weeks, along with 5 indicas that were just cola on a stem and staked down (Indicas are the sweeping curved stems seen in the Thai & Indicas pic.)
The Thaitanics soon started stretching out and showing sex around 10days. 3 fem. and 2 males. Males were removed.
I staked and tied down the lanky branches on the girls but didn’t top them.
Over the first 6 weeks they flowered but didn’t gain much bud size but the plants gained in size overall and were very thirsty for Nitrogen with yellow leaves starting at the bottom of the plants. Of the three phenotypes, pheno's 1 & 3 were particularly N thirsty during flowering. I used Bio-bloom, algamic, Topmax as well as Bio-grow during bloom with nearly every watering except for the last week or so...
And LiquidGoldFulvic (DryFlowerProducts) at 1ml/Litre water 4 times over 11 weeks.. Not strictly organic, made from pine trees.

All the plants were chopped within 9 days of each other, around 11 weeks 12/12. Pheno 2 was first then pheno 1 and then pheno 3. I should have let all of them bloom a bit longer really but I had other plants that desperately needed the space.

1st pheno was sativa looking with quite bulky big airy buds, smells fruity & woody/pine with slight aniseed. Not really spicy. Quite a strong up buzz, slightly anxious feeling at times though not over-powering. Covered in orange/red hairs

2nd pheno also was quite sativa looking but quite bulky, skunky buds, smells very fruity, a bit bubblegum like. Skunky up type high, strong fruity taste.

3rd phenotype is similar to the first but took longer to mature in bloom. Hairs have more of a copper tinge on this one. Not as fruity smelling but a subtle aniseed with a touch of chocolate. This one has a more up, racy buzz, and speedy but not a heavy paranoia type, slight anxiety if smoked all day long but generally a happy feeling.
The yield is a bit lower on this pheno but I like it the most.
It could have done with another 2 weeks I recon. I didn’t check the trichs until after harvest and they were virtually all clear. I went by the colour of the pistils. Oh well, I have the mother plant so next time I will let her go for 13 weeks or more. :)

Large looking yields from all phenos, largest buds I have had in my grow cabinet. I didn’t weigh the complete harvests but the buds were much heavier than I thought.
The main colas on phenos 1&2 being around the 20g mark, pheno3 15g once cured.
I’m not sure but all phenos may have hermied a bit. Found a few seeds here and there and on phenos 1 and 3 found a male flower or two! I didn’t find this affected the sensi quality too much though. From a good few ounces iv only found about 8 seeds.

The 3rd pheno, my favourite to keep, is more like Thai. The smell of the 2nd pheno is gorgeous and the buzz nice, quite skunky so im keeping her for now too.

The pics of the cured bud are after smoking most of it and do not represent the total harvest.

Overall its a nice strain to try, it is an up active type buzz and quite strong too, though not as strong as I was expecting. Maybe by leaving the buds in bloom longer the strength will increase more by giving more "body" to the buzz?

I used Bio-Bizz all-mix soil that had been used one already and not really composted after. Was still ok with added liquid ferts.

Lighting at the time was two 150w HPS and 125w Envirolite* (Blue 6100K) in-between the 2 HPS bulbs. I’ve now replaced the blue Envirolite for a red 2700K.

*Giant sized compact fluorescent lamp.

I will grow clones from this strain again at some point, as it is a good smoke, not as powerful a Haze type sativa but an enjoyable experience. I’m trying to build up a good selection of mother plants and Thaitanic is welcome addition to the collection.

I decided to give this strain report after giving the plant a real long cure time. I noticed when testing it right after harvest that I felt it had not reached it's full potential. The high was pretty quick, and the taste was harsh, and so was the smoke. But after a few monthes cure, Tha-Tanic turn ...continued
