This is the first time I have grown this strain. I picked the seeds up from Emery and had really not heard too much about them other than the SAGE strain line and their recommendation.
The seeds all germed and popped quickly. I started them directly into 4.5gallon containers after sprouting in damp paper towels.
I started 6 beans and they all sprouted and ended up with 3 females.
I vegged them for quite a long time - 12 weeks from seed but they grew into some nice little bushes. I also took some clones at about 9 weeks. For some reason not all of the plants showed sex during veg but after taking some clones of the nicest bushes, I found out that one of the mothers was actually a father. I nipped all of the males including the cloned fathers.
Of the 3 females, one was a nice shaped Christmas tree shaped tree while the other two were more bud-stick style - I called them congo buds. No kidding, the colas on the top of these were 20" long and 3 " across !
The two clones of the Christmas tree mother I took turned into mini Christmas trees with a big budstick on top.
I flowered them for 73 days - to perfection with the right combination of clear, cloudy and amber trichs.
My plan was to reveg the Christmas tree after clipping most of the buds off. Unfortunately I killed the mother due to a fan problem when trying to restart it into veg. Oh well, no more of that mother !
I harvested and hung all of the branches and kept each type separate for genetic, taste and potency profiling. In the end, I ended up with 11.2oz of dried and cured bud. This excluded the popcorn bud which was about another 1oz as I put this aside with the bud trimmings for some nice ice hash in the near future (in the freezer for 5 months now and I have not made it !).
The buds are super crystaly ! There is so much resin and trichs on the buds that is glues your scissors or your budbuster together. I have given this to a few friends and they cannot believe how sticky this stuff is.
Once you roll a joint you have a hard time letting it go because it sticks to the resin on your fingers!
The taste of this is very smooth and has a nice sweet flavor. This is probably the best tasting smoke I have ever had.
The high is also quite unbelievable. I have smoked a lot of pot before and have somewhat of a tolerance for it - same with a number of my friends who I invited over for the taste testing party. We smoked a reasonable size joint and got real screwed up!
I thought I was fucked up because my legs were going tingly but I was not the only one feeling this. As a matter of fact we had a bit of trouble walking smooth and stable too! The high is quite high cause shortly afterwards we hopped in our cars to go out for dinner and realized how screwed up we all were.
With this high it is not too hard to daydream off looking at things on the side of the road and then realize oh shit I am driving and have to get back onto your side of the road. This is defiantly not something I would smoke then hop in my car and work through busy city traffic.
The high is also very energetic. It is a real lets getup and do something kind of smoke.
I really do not like stuff that burns you out and makes you want to have a nap. I much rather energy stuff.
Overall this is probably one of the top 3 smoke I have every had and I am very cautiously guarding my supply from my friends who keep wanting to dip into it. It has really become a treasure smoke that I keep aside and dip into here and there while my regular diet right now is with White Rhino from Nirvana.
I have 4 more beans left and I would defiantly grow it again. So much so I have thought of picking up another 10 beans for safe keeping.
Garden Information for this report Closet grow, 5'x5'x5' with a 400w MH during initial veg with a 400w HPS added in later veg and flower for 800w total. 200cfm ventilation and standard Sunshine mix potting soil with some worm castings, additional permalite and seaweed dirt added in. |
