Breeder's Description - 'Brazil X KC' | | This sativa-indica hybrid is a happy producer indoors or out. The taste of these tight, incapacitating buds has fruity accents, yet she's anything but a sweet smoke. A prolific flowerer with strong aroma, she requires a bit of patience, so expect an 9-12 week photoperiod. Her disorienting cerebral effects are also accompanied by a body stone of considerable magnitude. The perfect antidote to leave a hard day's work behind you.

| The Brazil X KC was very easy to grow. I had to play with the height of the light in order to keep it from becoming too tall, it seems to want to be a tall lanky plant. I germinated 4 seeds straight in the soil under the light and had sprouts within 18-29hrs.
Vegged for about 20 days. I use common Miracle Grow nutes in potting soil, 2-3 apps of 30-10-10 in veg, and silicone was used each time. I had three females and one male, killed off one female for space as I grow other strains in the same room, and kept the male out under a skylight to breed with, then killed him later for butter with the first girl.
Flowering took about 52 days for one and 60 days for the other, though I probably could have let the last go another week or so. I fed them a much diluted MG of 15-30-15 twice, and gave silicone those times as well as 3 more times with just water (and hydrogen peroxide was used on occasion for system hygiene/ further health etc.).
Out of the two girls I got two completely different plants with different smells and flavors. You could just barely tell they were related. One grew very orange/red buds, the other had mostly white hairs until the very end where they all went orange quickly with the development of the trichomes, I harvested by 25% amber, 50% cloudy, the rest clear.
Though all this sounds well enough, the one that was finished early went quite hermie. I've only ever had 3 hermies in my grow career and never as bad is this one wanted to go, bananas all over. I took that as a sign she was done early, the trichs looked okay so I cut her down. The other had a few bananas as well by her chop. Now this can happen on plants when they hint they are close to being finished and haven't been pollinated as a last ditch effort... but according to KC Brains these ladies have a 9-12 week photoperiod which certainly was not the case. The other 4 plants in the room were quite unaffected by this and had seeds only in the two spots per plant I'd bred them
Growers Preference: I will not be growing this strain again. The flavor was not appealing to me, very rustic something more age-old tokers appreciate but I'm not quite in that era. And I have much more potent and better tasting strains that could have been filling those spaces. I will be handing off many of the seeds to MS patients and others who have chronic pain (here?s to you ma) as this seemed to help 3 of the 5 who tried it greatly, the other two noticed some helpful numbing as well as slightly renewed appetite. The high was a little over average I'd say, quite a bit of body stone with a mild head numbing buzz, makes you sort of racy for a moment or two then relaxes. Lasts for maybe 2-4 hours, depending on your tolerance. I was coming down a little speedy at about 1.5hrs into it, but most of my street smoker friends had a good time for a full 3-4, and came down slowly for about an hour or two after.
The first picture shows two plants, the lighter is the Haze; the dark more sativa looking is the Brazil. The next is a group shot of about half the grow space; the males are way in the back. They are probably 27-30 days from seed at this point. The rest are bud shots from one or both of the phenos, mostly the early chopped.
I'd judge this not by my taste, but the other info I gave, I tried to be as... politically correct if you will about everything so that those who may be looking for this kind of smoke can decide on their own. Worst thing I can say about it is the mild hermie tendency as my experience with hermies near doubled just by the appearance of those two girls.
Good luck and happy growing! ~WK~
