Breeder's Description - 'Crystal Paradise' | | The paternal Brazilian heritage gives this ambitious indica/sativa hybrid a rich taste and intense high, but its vigor and hefty yield are likely the influence of the California BB Skunk mother. Average 9-10 week photoperiod, but indoors or out, expect huge buds of potent, made-to-party smoke with a spicey, earthy flavor that turns otherwise civilized people into complete Bogarts (but not for long). Store in a hermetically sealed container to avoid olfactory incrimination.

| The Crystal Paradise was a nice surprise, it very much out did any expectations I had for it. She's a very strong smelling and spicey, hashy potent girl. This is one of two plants I started only as filler for my room if I needed any extra fems, they both were fem but turned out I only needed one so I took the smelliest one with the most vigor. She was only vegged for 2 week s(also I did not bother to top), I planted the two about 1.5 weeks after I started the rest of my room and I flowered them all together when the others were almost 4wks, avg. height being 20", the saved Crystal at 14" (set upon a 5" stand to equal out the height dif.) They were fed 30-10-10 Miracle Gro Azalea Rhodedendron food during veg supplemented with 18-16-21(I believe) tomato food, also fed silicone at every other feeding.
The Crystal branches surprisingly well I expected a single cola harvest but ended up with 7, one huge. The 6 were (dry) 5-8grams each and the larger was about 12g and about 11g worth of little buds. During flower they were fed a 15-30-15 during early flower supplemented with a 2-45-28 and then at mid flower I stopped the 15-30-15 due to it's high N content and started feeding only the 2-45-28. Silicone was given every feeding during flower, feeds occurring every other or every three days. She got only water the last 3 weeks and two proper flushings a few days prior to harvest. She took about 49 days of 12/12, roughly 63 days from seed. Expect much higher yeilds with more time and attention during veg, she yeild roughly 61g.
She's a very beautiful plant, light lime green with faded orange haqirs, covered in resin glands. I wish I had more and better pics of her, I might add more photos when I grow it again to do the CP more justice.
The smell defiantly goes to her Cali skunk heritage, most of her qualities do I'd say, not too much Brazil that I can sense. Mostly she's just about everything you'd want in a sticky, stinky dank skunk strain with a few trace musky fruity hints of Brazil. She smells like a skunk ate some dil-garlic and smoked a few OZ’s of Afghani hash then died under a house porch.
The taste is so spicey and pungent, fuelish dank skunk with hints of pine. It expands in your lungs almost immediately and exhales in a smooth, spicey, delicate cloud that leaves the flavor of herby skunk all over your mouth. With the smell and that knowledge you crave that first hit, then the experience of that first makes you crave the next even more.
The potency is there, somewhat creeper you think you get slammed in the first few puffs, you can tell it's strong stuff right off, but by the time the bong pack (or the first few packs) are just about smoked you begin to feel it rolling in like a fast, strong and heavy oncoming tide and it hits you in the head then down your whole body and you're down for the count. Not the kind of weed you smoke when you want to accomplish something that’s for sure, it's to kick back and completely relax and comfort your body and muscles after a long days work or play, while still giving a bit of a trippy quality to the heady end of the high.
All in all it's great stuff, I plan on growing it again in my next garden and I recommend it to any grower, new or old alike for it's ease and complexity of taste, smoke and potency.
Garden Information for this report It's about 4.5' by 2', 400watt hps, 6 plants of varying strain type. Miracle Gro potting soil, chem Miracle Gro nutes of varying sorts (see above) and silicon when fed. Watered every day, fed every other or every third day. |
