Breeder's Description - 'Ice' | | With Ice we have successfully attempted to bring quality and quantity together. Ice has ancestors of Afghani, a very special Skunk, Northern Light, and Shiva. An intense selection process of thousands of plants was used in finding this special mix. Ice flowers are richly covered in trychomes and have a dense consistency. Buds form along main branches and there is a high flower to leaf ratio. Fantastic for hydro and soil applications. The stone is heavy and the aroma is almost like fuel. Ice is a winner of the 1998 Cannabis Cup.

| These are my observations of "Ice" from Nirvana seeds....
Plant size and formation ...500-600 mm high, about the same in width.. large leaves (one resembled more indica) very long stems on the leaves , keeping them from covering any bud sites , very fast grower , fills out to very well shaped ...continued

| I had two distinct phenotypes:
The first was was more Sativa influenced and was a harder to contain in my small flower space. Would have done much better outside. Flowers were very large but the bottom 1/4 of the flower was strechy.
The second was more Indica influenced that took *very* well t ...continued

| I grew Ice from clone. IMO this strain was very sensitive to wind and nutes. My problems with this plant grew so big that I had to cut her down on day 31 of bloom. She still produced a lot of resin and some nice buds.

Grower Report - Sticky Resins on November 23, 2003, 1:17 pm
| Ice is one of my faves. It produces so many resin glands that the plant is completely covered. The high is nice and uplifting and will not turn you into a couch potato. Ice is good to smoke before doing something active like biking or hiking. The high creeps up on you after smoking ... you might en ...continued

Grower Report - Raqueteer on January 2, 2004, 4:28 pm
| Started out with 5 seeds, 100% germ rate!
Seedlings were vegged for about 6 weeks and then put into 12/12. In about the 4th or 5th week of Veg there was a strong odor though, so Carbon scrubbers had to be turned on at this point.
They were very easy to maintain in my DWC setup, very happy wi ...continued

Grower Report - Cuban on January 5, 2004, 8:54 pm | Ice from Nirvana rated 8.00 |
| The Grow This is my second Ice plant grown, the first was male. It was an extremely vigorous strain. I used Sams Choice soil with a 40% mix of perlite. During veg I used Miracle Grow AP 15-30-15. She was vegged with 100 watts of CF's for 5 weeks and 13" at which point she showed female pre flowers and I set her up with 400W HPS all for herself. After 14 days of flower she was stretched up to 32" and her flowers had formed. I used Sam's choice Deep feeding 10-52-10 for the first 3 weeks and Shultz Expert Gardener 10-60-10 for the remainder of flower. She had no smell during veg. She did not smell in flower until the last week during the flush when all I could smell was a mango scent. Throughout the grow temps ranged from 62F - 89F and humidity from 30%-60%.
The Harvest Her last day of 12/12 was the 45th day into flower and she was 38" tall. She sat in 24 hrs of darkness and was harvested on her 46th day. I removed all of the branches and manicured them. They were hung to dry in my closet with a fan and a couple of ONA blocks. After 4 days she was then re manicured and put into a tin container. Her scent has become less fruity and more like a real tangy kind of smell. This phenotype smells NOTHING like ganja at all. No one could get over just holding the buds up to their noses and inhaling its stench. Yield was 129 Grams off of this one plant after cure.
The Smoke Test I had three people separately test the bud and I documented their impressions so I could give the best possible opinions of Nirvanas' Ice.
Smoker #1 is a chronic smoker and has been most of his life. He usually smokes the best in town, and could not stop drooling over this. He rates it as one of his top 3 smokes of his life. Causes munchies. Taste = 8 Smell = 10 High = 7
Smoker #2 is another "pothead" :) and while not as excited as smoker #1 definitely thinks it is incredibly good smoke. Taste = 8 Smell = 10 High = 9
Smoker #3 is in love with Ice. She thinks that it smells like cucumber skin. Causes munchies. Taste = 9 Smell = 8 High = 8
In Review The only sad thing was that I was not prepared to clone as this was definitely the mother plant I have dreamed of. I will be growing this again and praying this phenotype visit my garden once more.
Garden Information for this report Just a test site, corner of my jam-room. |

| I thoroughly enjoyed this plant! I am re-growing it right now. Don't let my numbers fool you, I think I may have messed up somewhere with the hydro solution. It isn't the plant's fault, even though I wish there was no Ruderalis in the strain (causes early flowering), I wanted to veg my plant for a b ...continued

| Five seeds germinated out of six, in 3 days, directly in soil. They stayed for a week under 54w of fluoros and then for other three weeks under 250w of HPS. All the plants grew very fast with a lot of side branches and just one showed a bit of yellowing; they need quite a lot of nitrogen during ...continued

| In veg, she showed sex (pre-flowers) at day 22. Which was great! I don’t believe that she is the nute hog like others say. I never over fed her and still there was a slight nute burn (fox farm products). During veg there was a definite fuel like smell in the grow room
Flower: she stretched prett ...continued

| This was my first grow, I only germinated one Ice seed (along with a few other seeds of other strains). It sprouted and turned out to be female (my only one actually). I cared for this plant well because she was all I had left. I was on a slight time constraint so I only vegged for a little under 4 ...continued

I had 4 of 6 beans show female in 5 days of 12/12. I used GH Flora nutes at 5ml/10ml/15ml per gallon. Spider mites attacked at 2 weeks, I put in a No Pest Strip and raised RH to 70%. Mites were gone ...continued

| First of all let me say this is the best Nirvana's strain I've grown; very good final quality and quite good stability. I started with 10 seeds bought in Amsterdam , got 4 females. One was given to a friend and now is a wonderful mother plant used to make clones. ICE is a strong, resistant and ...continued
