Breeder's Description - 'Northern Lights x Big Bud' | | Northern Lights x Big Bud was developed with the grower and smoker in mind. Big Bud has outragouse yield but tends to be a bit weak for the heavy smoker. Crossing Big Bud with a very potent Northern lights has made a more potent bud with losing only a small percent of the yield. The smoke from Northern Lights x Big Bud is rich and deep and the taste is lightly skunky.

| Very easy to grow. Handled transplanting and high nutes very well. Low odor, would be good for stealth cabs. Had a little trouble cloning but was moslty user error. My plants had very tight internode spacing, and bushy. I vegged them for 4 weeks and switched to 12/12, plants were about 2 1/2 ft at h ...continued

| This is my first 100% Indica I've grown and I love it! The second you toke on this you get the hit - no creeping at all, I knew exactly where I was - deep in the body stone.
At a party, where everyone had been smoking C99, as soon as this got passed around people went quiet and smiles came onto t ...continued

| NLxBB Very nice, clean daytime high, couchlock. Very big yield, didn't smell as much as the AK47 when dried or in flower. I grew a 6 foot monster, very big cola, very easy nice strain to grow and easy to clone.
Taste: I believe came from the nice Northern Light side, was a bit smooth, didn't have ...continued

| I grew these two Northern Lights x Big Bud indoors from seed. One matured much faster than the other and yielded about a half ounce less than the longer flowering plant.
First plant came down after 49 days of flowering (counting from onset of flowering, not from light switch). Second plant came d ...continued

| Grew out two NLxBB seeds left over from last year under a 100 watt MH. Took two clones of each plant, and sexed the seeded plants. Kept the two female clones. One died due to grasshoppers. They were transplanted outdoors mid June into 5 gallons of organic soil. Grew into one main cola with some side ...continued

| This is an amazing strain! Many people put down the BigBud for it's lack of potency... but I have found now that it is mixed with the Northern Lights it is a much better plant. The internodes are very tight together and the buds were super-dense. It is a very tough strain... I was growing it with Sn ...continued

| The Northern Lights Big Bud is a great strain for stealth cabs, new growers or anyone looking for an easy-to-grow potent plant. It handled transplants, abuse and high ferts well. I grew it FIM and scrog style. My yield was approx. 5 ounces (dried) under fluoros. I feel the total yield could have bee ...continued

| I planted 9 seeds, 8 sprouted, 3 females survived through flowering. The plants were vegged for 35 days and flowered for first 2 weeks under 300 watts of shoplight provided flouro. Plants were then flowered under 400 watt hps for an additional 60 days. I didn't run into too many problems during veg, the plants were all about 18 inches tall with very short internodal growth. I kept the plants in small half gallon containers during veg to keep them from growing too tall, as height was an issue. I had a big problem with temperature during flowering with the hps, temps hit 100f on several occasions. This strain is so hardy though, the plants handled it well. Two different phenos showed once the plants started budding, one was very indica, the buds clung tight to the plants stalk, making almost 2/3s of the plant one solid bud. The other pheno stretched out a bit more, but yielded better, the difference between the two isn't really that big though. I ended up yielding a little over 3 ounces from the plants, this is even with harvesting one of the plants way too early, and several general newby mistakes with fertilizer levels. The smoke is pretty smooth, and decently potent but really doesn't have much flavor, hopefully it will come about a bit more in the weeks of curing to come. I would definitely reccomend this strain to growers looking for a hardy solid producing plant, I will grow it again myself, and hope to improve upon my own results. You could probably take my yields and double them if your an experienced or even solid grower. I fully expect the plant to produce a lot better with different ferts and much lower temps
Garden Information for this report Grow area was a 4x4x2 box made out of Medium Density Fiberboard. Ventilation came courtesy of a 110cfm bathroom fan. Sams choice soil, miracid and bone meal used during veg, Schultz bloom plus used for flower. Watered daily with 1 feeding a week. |

| NL#5 x BigBud is a GREAT beginner strain! This was my very first grow and these plants took some heavy abuse during the early stages due to my lack of experience, especially with watering. To my surprise, they bounced back beautifully every time. A very forgiving strain!
I was lucky to have a 10 ...continued
