| This years' outdoor crop will make my third grow of 'Hollands Hope.' It is a hardy, bug resistant variety that practically grows itself. It's perfect for beginners and novices. In other words, 'Idiot proof!'.
I have grown Hollands Hope indoors with spectacular results in terms of potency. When grown indoors hydroponically, Hollands Hope quickly move up from a solid 5 or 6 for potency (when grown outdoors) to a strong 7/soft 8 (when grown hydroponically, indoors.)
Hollands Hope is a perfect 'everyday smoke.' Nice clear high that accommodates daily activity or couch-lock. It's your call. If you smoke enough of it, it will knock you flat on your ass. Otherwise, as an 'every-day' smoke, the high has a comfortable ceiling and is more in the head than the body, it permits you to function normally while enjoying a most pleasant and persistent buzz. The high is long lasting.
Although Hollands Hope is an old and stable strain, the plants can show remarkable variety in size and appearance. I 'usually' grow from thirty-five to forty-five plants at a time. Out of those 35-45 there will be a few plants that show their 'pure' Afghani ancestry, while a few others will show the heavily Sativa "Skunk" characteristics of the other contributing ancestor. Hollands Hope is real pleaser for any pot farmer/marijuana maven. A 'must-have' in your stash.
To summarize:
'Hollands Hope'
1. It is a hearty, easy to grow plant. Tolerates heavy nutrient feedings well. 2. Respectable, 'commercial' sized yeilds. 450 - 550 grams per sq. meter. 3. Super fast/early flowering variety. Great for colder (New England) regions. 4. Disease and pest resistant. 5. The buds begin to turn a beautiful purple-ish hue after two weeks into the flowering cycle. An absolutely stunning looking plant. The buds can display so many colors that it can just as accurately be called, 'Rainbow Weed!' 6. Smooth smoke and pleasant taste. Ever so slightly 'heavy' on the lungs but with a flavor that makes up for it. 7. A thoroughly enjoyable high that does not cripple. Excellent 'everyday' smoke. In fact, as an 'everyday' smoke I give it a 10! It's perfect that way.
Expect to pay between $25 and $45 US dollars for 10 seeds. Best source is 'Nirvana' in Holland. They ship anywhere and they always have the best prices. I hope you try a batch of Hollands Hope. Indoors or out it's a pleasure to grow and to smoke.
Garden Information for this report Outdoor: 8' x 8' space. Organic soil composed of compost, peat, vermiculite with some bone meal and bat guano sprinkled in. I use 'Miracle Grow' Rose formula twice a month. The garden is watered every third day or so as needed. The plants receive about 6 hours of direct sunlight with the rest of the time spent in well-lit, indirect sunlight. Indoors: I have a 36 basket/plant aeroponic unit that was designed in Israel by their own hydroponic experts. The system delivers, via spray, an aerated nutrient solution directly to the plants roots 24/7. From day of cloning or germination to day of harvest, the plants are being constantly fed. It helps them to maximize their genetic potential. You know, "be all that you can be" only were talking about pot plants not people. I use a 1000 watt Metal Halide lite on a light-mover/light-rail. I keep the lights on 24 hours a day during veggie period and then cut back to 12/12 for flowering. |
