A beautiful plant from a marvellous breeder. Reeferman's creates fresh crosses with classic and rare genetics and helps to keep the canna gene-pool alive and improving. I ordered these seeds on a whim because I liked the description. Luckily for me they turned out to be even better than how they were described.
I initially had some problems with germination but Reeferman sent me replacements, plus a pack of a strain worth more than the Potent Purples because there was a bit of a wait. Reeferman looks after his customers and pretty much guarantees high germination rates. 90%, I think. I had no germination problems with any of the replacements.

This strain is an F1 cross of Oregon Purple Thai (OPT) mother and a secret Father. The OPT has some lovely traits and one rather peculiar one: up to 30% of seedlings may be mutants. I only had 15% mutants overall so I did well.
The seedlings grow strong and loved my blue envirolite (highly recommended). Once into veg stage, they grow so fast that they totally dominated my garden and after 7 weeks of veg I had to begin 12/12 for fear of running out of space, even though the rest of my girls could have done with another week or 2 in veg!
In 12/12 the buds packed on and on. Nice and dense. Very resinous.
About day 40 they began to turn lavender and continued to purple towards the end.
After 55 days of 12/12 they had reached 52 inches and had grown a lovely set of maroon buds. The smell is the outstanding thing: It is truly the best smelling strain that I have yet grown (and I have grown some!). The main aroma is a sweet and sour grape with a touch of pine, honey, lavender with a slightly fresh smell of meadows and sweet spice.
This gorgeous smell is directly reflected in the taste hence the 10. No argument. Sometimes I would keep picking up the Jay out of the tray to respark it, just to get that taste in my mouth again.
This procedure caused over-indulgence on a number of occasions and I had to hold on tight through the astral journey I was sent on. The high is electric, trippy almost but strangely calming too. Moderation is needed here or you could end up quite dizzy as I did once. If you keep the dosage within normal limits then this is a delicious and uplifting herb to cherish.

12 inch, 3-gallon pots. Organic compost. Biobizz and the new Canna Organic nutrients were used along with a little Epsom salts and maxicrop+Fe.
Placed in a 3x3 foot garden with 8 other girls of different strains underneath a 600watt Grolux HPS and a 400watt MH towards the end of 12/12. Light height was 24 inches above the tops.
Began 12/12 at 7 weeks Veg, 18 inches tall, having been topped twice.
Finished after 55 days of 12/12 and grew to 54 inches high.
The dried and cured buds weighed in at 40 grams (1.4 ounce) which is rather good for the space and lighting.
An easy and very enjoyable plant to grow that had me surprised by its vigour, taste, high and yield. One for the connoisseurs among us.
