Breeder's Description - 'AK47' | | This easy to grow plant is our most popular. It is of medium height and produces good yields quite quickly. Extremely STRONG odor and smoke. Take extra care for odor control when growing near neighbors. The name was given not out of any idea of violence, but more in association with the ‘one hit wonder’ that the smoke is. Quality without compromise makes AK suitable for commercial grows or home use. These plants have a short flowering period for a sativa, producing compact, not too leafy buds that gleam with a coat of resin crystals. Winning SEVEN prizes!! in Cannabis competitions, including ...continued

| I've been growing AK for a year or so (4/5 crops). It was given to me as a cutting. I know there are two identified AK phenos: the Indica one that blooms in 50/55 days, and the more Sativa one, blooming in 67/70 days, which is the one I have. It's an incredibly good pheno, one of my favorites in ...continued

Grower Report - free the hemp on August 2, 2003, 2:52 pm | |
| The sativa pheno of AK 47 grows tall and has thin, flexible branches and stem. This makes it a plant that likes to sway in the wind, and good air cirtculation is absolutely essential as this strain is prone to airborne bacterial disease. The stems and branches are purplish throughout veg and flowe ...continued

| I really like the Serious AK47. I have grown both Serious' AK47 and Nirvana's AK47. Nirvana's is nice but get the Serious if you can afford it. This plant is very bushy. I had excellent germ rates and 7 of 10 females. The plants grow very vigorously, and make nice yields of resiny buds. I did notice ...continued

| This strain develops a sturdy skeletal system with thin but extremely strong branching, and for me had the tendency to bush out filling any empty space in the garden.
These plants were vegged for about 28 days, flowered at approximately 12 inches and they took 45 to 49 days to finish with an aver ...continued

| I have grown AK47 a few times now inside and out I have found that in my pack of 15 seeds I had 3 diffrent phenos!
The first one I'm going to tell you about is the one that I have killed off and won't be using again; it leans more to the Sativa side of things, takes longer to flower has less resi ...continued

| Grow:
Germinated 4 beans, vegged for 5 weeks. Showed sex in veg, two turned out female. One was definitely more Indica phenotype and other was sativa. Force-finished both at 9 weeks, but the Indica pheno could've finished week earlier and the sativa one might've wanted a week more. Guess which on ...continued

| Only started out planting 7 of my 15 seeds. Was able to nab 3 females out of the bunch. The pictures shown are strictly from the plant which I chose to keep as a mother. The other 2 plants were almost identical in shape & appearance. The main difference here was the significant yield that this parti ...continued

| Grew out the pack with good germination result, 15/15, in about 1.5 days. Vegged under 400 watt HPS for about 30 days. Showed sex around beginning of 2nd week of 12/12, identifying 13/2 in favor of the ladies. I did find some inconsistency with regards to appearance and discarded several runts -that ...continued

Grower Report - Anima on January 23, 2005, 9:58 pm | AK47 from Serious Seeds rated 8.86 |
| got my beans via seedsdirect. Popped 4 beans for this grow, 3/4 females...I experienced a bit of variation in my phenotypes, especially when it came to taste/smell/budstructure.although in veg they were all very uniform as to height and leaf structure. Plants were all topped 1 time in early veg (the cherry pheno got topped again on one side) Pheno #1: My "cherry" pheno, it had the sweetest cherry smell in late veg/flower (the male had this smell too). Its buds were much less dense due to more sativa-ish, UN-nested bracts. Still, it had a very respectable yield. I never weighed the harvest but I'd say all my plants gave me close to 2oz dry, maybe more. This was my favourite during the grow, but that cherry goodness just didn't carry over into the taste like I thought it would, it still has a cherry taste, but lacks a tartness you expect. The potency on this one is not a 10, more like a 9 or so, just a little less like being ran over by a THC train. The sativa headiness comes through most noticeably on this pheno, and the motivational influence is less suppressed Pheno #2: my "super musky" pheno. Super dense, resin oozing nugs. The smoke from this stuff is the 1-hitter quitter stuff 10/10 potency. Almost a dead ringer for pheno #3, except for the taste/smell which is hashy and strong, with a fruity kindness that starts to come through only after a nice 1 month cure. Pheno #3: In the end this one is my favourite: "THE AK-47" Look/Smell: Looks nice and crystally. I mean this stuff literally sparkles! Dense/compact super trichome covered green goodness, smells kind of hashy, and sour fruity maybe even cranberry like...after you break up a bowl there is dusting of crystals over your tray, and you have dusty sticky fingers...very resinous... Taste: about the same as the smell, but the fruity-tartness goes away about halfway through the bowl and you get like a creamy hash taste that lingers. Top shelf stuff indeed!
High: this is some pretty powerful stuff...I get tremors after taking my first hit. You get a short-lived sativa rush, then about an hour will go by like nothing, during which time your thought processes will be going constantly, but before you have time to lock in a thought it will fall into obfuscation. Then, you are doomed by the indica body high that makes gravity feel like you are on Jupiter. And when they say the smoke is expansive, they mean it. If someone tries to show off and take in a hero sized hit, it will hit back like an Ali punch to the dome, and they will end up down on the ground gasping for air between coughing fits. I usually end up loading a bowl and nursing hits off of it instead of real stoner "smoke sessions"... if I tried I'd probably forget what I was doing halfway through. Half cashed bowls are not a rarity around here...again potency 10/10 with high and low notes.
All 3 had phenomenal yields, all in all some hard hitting stuff, I am pleased with serious' AK47, and I will definitely get around to growing/ smoking it again!
Garden Information for this report Soil. 9 L pots. veg'd with flouros. Flowered under 400W HPS with agrosun bulb. Bat guanos (bug eating high nitrogen, and fruit eating high phos.)used as fertilizer. Glacial rock dust for trace elements. |
