Breeder's Description - 'Blockhead' | | Blockhead - This is a new addition to Spice of Life Seeds. The mother was selected from seed developed by one crazy yanqui. The exact origins are somewhat of a mystery. It is strong pot. The feminized mothers were fairly homogenous, although from several of the line, and another more extreme sativa. This mother had indica-like buds on a sativa sized plant. Crossed with the same SwT father as Sweet Tooth #3!

| I started 2 seeds. One male and one female. Another easy strain to grow from SOL. This one appeared to me to be a Sweettooth #3. Fat leaves and super vigorous grow. Low odor and she sucked up the nitrogen.
I vegged her for about 6 weeks and then flowered for 57 days.
The smoke has a nice sw ...continued

| 10 seeds were started. the m/f ratio was 5:5 all plants showed sex in veg and the males were tossed.
2 were more sativa and 3 were more indica, sadly the favorite sativa was lost, after a failed revegging. The favorite indica(bh2) has survived and thrived. clones easily, often the 1st to show r ...continued

| I originally started four seeds in peat pellets and only two became female. I put the four seedlings under two 250W metal halide's to vedge, to start in 16 oz. clear plastic solo cups. I used ocean forest soil mixed with 1/3 perlite for the first few weeks the seedlings were fed light doses of canna rhyzotonic. After a few weeks i started implementing a more aggressive feeding approach, using bio bizz grow and algamic as directed. I killed the males and watched the females grow short and squat, bushy is the only way to describe these ladies.
BlockHead had a very dense inner construction, large fan leaves blocked important light from reaching the inner parts of the plant, carefully training this plant would be ideal. I didnt train this plant, but i did manage to try to FIM one of the blockheads(bh2) and left the other one alone(bh1). This was my first FIM attempt and i dont know if i did it correctly but BH2 had a very peculiar growth patter, resembling a crowded NYC apartment building(lol). i vedged for about six weeks 3 gallon containers, and saw the ladies get to 16 and 19 inchs tall before i put them into 12/12 photoperiod.
I flowerd these gals under a 1000w hortilux HPS switchable ballast in 5 gallon buckets. In 12/12 they did not stretch much, their final height was 22 and 26 inches tall. Since i only had 3 plants in 12/12 and the other one being much larger, the canopy was totaly un even and was slightly frustrating to work with since i hand feed. The ladies were fed mixtures including : Bio Bizz bloei, top max, and budswell bat guano worm casting tea. The smells during vedge were very faint, but in the later period of 12/12 the smell can get quite heavy, i can only imagine if i had grown 10 or 20 of these block heads in a large room...a carbon scrubber would be advised. This is my first experience with spice of life seeds and it was great, S.O.L.'s buds are amazing, aside from totaly lush green growth block heads also have incredibly thick and dense buds, wich change colors to hues of violet blue and purple. This plant was so beautiful that it won POTW on sept 28 2004(b.t.w - thanks to all who voted for me) A simply spectacular plant, easy to grown and some of the best smoke ive ever grown.
SMOKE REPORT
Block Head, appears blocky when manicured and trimmed out, leaving thick trichome covered nuggies. From about the 3rd week into 12/12 i was drooling to smoke some of it and finally i get the chance, allow me to share with you my experience. I rolled up a bone dry 1.0 gram into a club cabare rice paper with no glue, only the fibers to keep things together. upon lighting it you get a faint fruity aroma quickly swept away by a citrus/grapefruity type after taste. A hint of skunk is there but im not quite sure, a fine smoke i held a breath in to check the expansion and it was there. i coughed a bit and my eyes waterd, and off to the couch i locked. Red eyed and hungry, 20 minutes later i was found devouring left over pizza. What can i say, i simply love block head, im convinced this is the best smoke ive grown to date. I plan on growing all of the spice of life seeds, id kill for a pack of Blue Sattellite #2 since i cant find them any where.

| Finished 1st gen of clones from a 2 phenos of Blockhead seed mothers. Similar in characteristics - rather short and squat, smelly, heavy trichome production. Currently finishing 2nd gen of clones.
Easy plant to grow - hungry for Nutes, especially in flowering.
Sensitive to pH fluctuations an ...continued
