I grew a plant from F2 seeds. The result was a very nice, short bushy plant. So I took a clone off that plant and vegged it for a few days then put into flowering. Definately a good strain. I started with 5 LUI seeds, 4/5 germ, 2/4 were female. One turned out to be the branchy ortega pheno and the other the columnar sweettooth pheno. They were vegged for about 6 weeks then both females were placed in a 10 gallon rubbermaid to share for the bloom period. Th ...continued

She was fed GH nutes while following the Lucas Formula. Easy to clone. Vegged her for 2 weeks under an 18/6 lighting schedule. She was then tripped into a 12/12 cycle where she flowered for a full 60 days. Total dried weight from the one plant was 2.5 ounces.

I bought a pack of LUI beans from seedsdirect in 2003... they were siiting in my fridge for 2 years before I germed them!!
9 out of 10 seeds popped. With 3 dying due to general seed-newbiness. Another was killed when not watered! So I was left with 5 seeds; out of which I luckily got 4 females and one stud. The male was chopped when identified, and the 4 females were transplanted into 3.5L pots filled with coco. After indentifying the various pheno's (1 x swt#3 pheno, 2 x 50/50 pheno's- high of the ortega and taste of the tooth, & the Ortega pheno) the ortega pheno was chosen to go onto my NFT tray under 1200w of hps with her 3 sister pheno's in pots filled with coco sitting next to the NFT, on the sidelines.
The ortega pheno branches out alot and would do well as a bush or in a scrog. The buds are not long but phat and very very dense. Watch out for mould!! I got hit by it late bloom only found when harvested... The high will put you out... simple! The taste is hashy and spicy.
The 50/50 pheno's I had were both sweet as hell with the smaller yielding one being the better/sweeter smoke of the two. The high leans toward the ortega; pretty stuppifying! The taste is sweet and hashy
The swt#3 pheno was a strange one... grew out mutated in veg. Then looked like it was'nt gonna put on any weight and then packed it on in the last 2 weeks. It could've gone 60-65 days and would've had a better smoke & heavier yield. tatse was sweetish, but kinda dull.
All in all this is definatley a good strain. I got a keeper from 5 beans! Taste, high & yield are all there.
Not a good strain for bubble- yield or taste, IMO.
Total yield was- 1042g from 13 plants- 10 oretga on nft tray and 3 other pheno's in coco.
