  Breeder's Description - 'Skunk Star'
Skunk Star is one of our most popular varieties. Growers always come back for it's consistency and big yields. The plants have a high calyx to leaf ratio and are very easy to manicure. They produce a soft smoke and intoxicating high. Perfect for beginners.

I am now working on my second grow of WWS Skunk Star. These are feminized seeds. Grew 5 plants on my first grow and got 1 hermie, 4 females.

Overall, Skunk Star is a rather easy plant to grow. They will definitely take a lot of abuse and keep on ticking. This was my first grow and I made many, many mistakes. Even with the numerous mistakes, still yielded almost 180 grams from the 4 females. The pictures are from my current grow.

As far as the smoke goes, its very smooth if you give it plenty of time to dry and cure. The high can definitely be coma-like under the right circumstances. If I am the least bit tired, the smoke puts me right to sleep. I also made hash oil out of the leaves. I didn't weigh how much oil I got but I know I didn't get very much. Probably around 3 grams. I used to drip a little over a packed bowl and the high was often devastating.

I recommend Skunk Star, but I don't think I'd ever buy the feminised seeds.

Sept 19, 2003: On my second grow I got another hermie. That's 2/10 or 20%.

Key Points:

-18/6 light cycle for vegging
-12/12 light cycle for flowering
-Started in 16 oz. cups, then 2 gal. buckets, and finally 5 gal buckets.
-Mixed 1 tablespoon of blood meal per gallon of soil/perlite mix
-Used Earth Juice once every 2 weeks
-Miracle grow potting soil
-Once in the 5 gallon buckets, I gave them a quart of water each every 4 - 6 days.
-Low stress training
-Ferts: Earth Juice Grow, Earth Juice Bloom, Blood Meal
-60/40 potting soil/perlite mix
-Vegged under 310 watts of fluoros
-Flower under 400W HPS plus ~200W of fluorescents

4 of the 5 were very uniform in appearance. The 4 were short with very tight node spacing. They grew to 23 - 25 inches with Low stress training. The oddball was a bit taller at 26 inches and had further spaced nodes. That one turned out to be the hermie, too.

Nice strain! First grow for me.

SEEDLING:
All seeds but one successfully germinated using damp paper towel method. Six seeds rooted and began to grow. Started in small Jiffy cups for about a week. Some noticable stretching that was my fault, won't happen again. I was using my 430W HPS at this st
