| Very very easy to grow. It was my first plant ever outdoors and I just let it do it's thing while feeding with pure blend. Very nice plant. Grew into typical christmas tree formation. Worth a lot more than the $15 I paid.

| California Orange is some excellent stuff. She looks beautiful, and smells just like an orange citrus cleaner. She grew to about 3' tall, with 1' of that being pure thick cola. It's incredibly dense with trichs all over.

| Germed 3 seeds by soaking them in a cup of water for 12 hours then placing them into 16 oz cups filled with miracle grow soil. All 3 popped within 2 days and were placed in a 2' x 2' cab under a vertical 150 HPS. Due to a lack of proper ventilation these plants grew slowly at first in the high heat environment.
After transplanting to 8 inch pots all three plants started to take off. Flowering was initiated 30 days after germination and none of the three had reached sexual maturity (alternating nodes). It took over 2 weeks for the first plant to show it's sex..a male. Second plant showed 2 days later, a female! Third plant showed a few days after that and it was male. Just as I was ready to throw out the male plants about a week after showing I noticed that the first male had started shooting out female flowers, it had hermied on me. I attributed this 100% to the high heat environment and I believe it would not have hermied under normal conditions.
Finally I was able to place the one female under a 430 HPS with excellent ventilation. I also did a final transplant into a 5 gal. bucket. This is when the plant started to really take off. It stretched...and stretched...and stretched some more. I think it went through 3 separate stretch periods when it was all said and done. Bud production was slow to keep up to the stretch at first and the leaf/calyx ratio was poor. Trich production was also slow in the beginning but both caught up after the plant finished stretching. Unfortunatly I had to harvest this plant at day 70, I felt it could have gone another 10-14 days to reach it's full potential.
I was initally pissed because this plant did stretch so much and it took forever and I couldn't wait any longer to harvest it, however after smoking the buds and giving some to friends I am very pleased with the final results. It gives a wonderful high that lasts your typical 2 hours or so and I was slow to build a tolerance to this strain. Taste is fantastic. I find myself opening the jar daily to catch a whiff of it's aroma. Yielded over 2 ounces from this plant, buds were so heavy at the end on branch snapped, other were bent over from the weight. I will definetly grow this one again but knowing that I need at least 15 weeks from seed to harvest if I get the same pheno.
Garden Information for this report Vegged under a vertical 150 HPS with poor ventilation (not recommended). Flowered under a 430 HPS with excellent ventilation (highly recommended). LST to attempt to keep the plant managable. Fed with 20-6-16 in veg, switched to 15-30-15 in flower as needed, then down to 0-5-4 and watered with tap water the final 10 days. Bud burns to a nice white/light grey ash. |
