Breeder's Description - 'Mazar' | | 2nd price "High Times Cup" 1999 2nd price "Highlife Cup" 2002
This is an upgraded strain of our valued former Afghan/Skunk. We improved the variety in 1997. The taste is softer than before and we managed to improve on yield. The Afghani (Mazar-i-Shariff) part is a very short Christmas tree-like plant, 100% Indica and very resinous. The F1-cross with Skunk #1 gives the variety a bigger yield and better taste. Very good "up" high. As both parents are very consistent, the offspring are very consistent too.
THC = 19.5%, CBD < 0.1%

| This grow was very healthy considering it was my first time. The plants grew vigorously in veg and in flower, took over my space in no time but this was due to lack of knowledge on my part. I left them to veg for too long. As they were from seed I vegged for almost 2 months from sowing. Ended up with 2 massive females out of 6 seeds. There was masses of fat buds by the 7th week of flowering. Very high yield but was spoiled by a mold infection. I lost about 25% of the buds. Second grow was fine as I had improved airflow and extraction. Watch out though, bud density works against you in humid conditions.
Harvest was ok, nothing too difficult, not too much leaf to remove.
Smoke was a bit harsh flavoured but as mentioned I believe this was more to do with my flushing or lack thereof. Very much a body stone, very visable on the face after a lunchtime toke.
Very well suited to SCROG or for growers with limited height. I had 5 feet to work with and survived with a little bit of leaf burn.
Garden Information for this report Grown from seed under a 600w HPS. Medium was an NFT tray and feed with Canna Rockwool nutes. PH kept around 6 but was a bit variable as I didnt have a PH meter. Unknown EC but I followed the pack instructions. That variety of Canna has now been discontinued. Photos are from a later SCROG grow. Very well suited to this method but dependant on good clones. |

| I ended up with only two females out of 5 plants. Each of the females seemed to be a different phenotype. One was extremely large, bushy and yielded a lot. The other was smaller, buds spaced out further apart and lankier. The one phenotype's high is average, fairly potent, not very heady and is OK. ...continued

| I started out with 20 feminised seeds, from those i chose the best 6 plants to continue working with... ALL of them were pretty varied in growth (it is an indica/sativa mix, Mazar-e-sharrif X Skunk #1) so this was expected. From the 6 chosen plants 3 were very indica-ish & had a major hash & Skunk ...continued

| The seeds were bought from Dutch Passion's store in Amsterdam, (duh) Netherlands.
The individual feminized Mazar's genetics, while a little varied, all produced excellent results. Most plants were around 3-4 feet in height at harvest and plant shapes were all different. Biggest was 5 foot and bus ...continued

| This was my second grow, I have done really a lot of reading and studying,so this part was o.k.,but there was lack of experience,wich have resulted in lower yields and lack of efficiency of growroom.In this moment I am sure that I could pull out considerably better yields from my setup. Ok,so here w ...continued

| this strain is really particular, not very easy to grow, because of its high vulnerability to ph-change, water shortage or wrong feeding... but the plant look really nice. The flowers turn to pink/purple in the last month, and they become covered with resin really soon. It's not easy, but it wort ...continued
